About me
If you’ve come this far, maybe I should talk a little about myself.
I was born in Bergamo in 1984 and have had a passion for languages for more than twenty years, so that they first became a university degree and then a profession.
I graduated in Languages – International Communication, and after a few years as a teacher in primary and middle schools and an enjoyable appointment as in-house translator and teacher for a linguistic services agency in Bergamo, I decided to strike out on my own.
My interest in languages not only led me to a career in this area but led me to explore the world. I must confess, I think I suffer from the wanderlust syndrome.
I’ve always loved travelling. It’s a way for me to discover more about myself and others, immersing myself in new cultures. This is something I have been able to explore in depth, also through work experience whilst at university.
I wasn’t born near the sea, but somehow feel inextricably linked to it and try to get there whenever I can. It’s a way of recharging my batteries and setting sail for new horizons with the wind behind me.
Experience: my moorings
Translator and subtitle writer for Cortopotere Shortfilm Festival
My first job as a translator was in the unusual setting of short film festival, which also allowed me to gain experience in a special field – writing subtitles.
Underwriters Assistant Property Department – Generali S.P.A. UK
An important job in a large insurance company. This job not only enabled me to hone my English and Spanish but also to liaise with international companies in the USA and Latin America and in European companies, especially in Greece and France.
Teacher of foreign languages
From 2011 to 2013 I taught in a middle school and then in a primary school. From this experience I learnt, amongst other things, also to identify the uniqueness of the pupils and offer them courses tailored to their level. This is what still distinguishes me today in my work as a private tutor.
Translator and teacher – Studio First S.R.L.
My last job before going freelance. Studio First is a place where I grew a lot. Managing projects on my own, I was able to improve my time and stress management skills as I had to juggle different projects at the same time and meet tight deadlines. Serene multitasking is essential in our field.
Translator, interpreter and teacher
I started working as a professional translator in 2010 and in 2016, after building on my experience, I decided to strike out on my own.
In almost ten years of work I have worked with many different private individuals and companies, like Chiara Cividini MakeUp artist, the artist Camilla Marinoni and Romano Broker, with different agencies, lawyers and notaries in Northern Italy, and with major, also international businesses in the tourism and sportswear industries. In addition to translating, I work as a liaison interpreter and could not renounce teaching.
